Build Confidence Before Race Day

Our FREE bike clinics are designed to help Rotary Kids Triathlon participants feel more comfortable and prepared for the swim portion of the race.

Bike Walk IRC Lessons

The Hands-On Bike Clinic teaches kids a number of things according to their skill levels (which will be evaluated), such as how to ride a small oval course in both directions, how to ride without training wheels, how to gain more confidence in making a corner, swerving, stopping, and placing bicycle pedals in the power start position, as well as other safe or advanced cycling techniques such as how to mount and take off on their bike after finishing the swimming portion of the triathlon.

To Join the Optional FREE Hands-On Bike Clinic:

Children must be registered in the Rotary Kids Triathlon in order to participate in the Hands-On Bike Clinic

8:30 am - 10:30 am

In the Parking Lot of the IG Center, 1590 9th Street SW in Vero Beach

Need a Bike or Helmet?

We want every child to have the opportunity to participate in the Rotary Kids Triathlon. A limited number of bikes and helmets are available for Indian River County residents on a first-come, first-served basis.

Before requesting equipment, we encourage families to explore borrowing a bike or helmet from friends, family, or community organizations. If your child participates in an after-school program such as GYAC, Boys & Girls Club, Float Hope, or Crossover Mission, please check with them as well.

​

To borrow a bike, you must:

  • Be an Indian River County resident

  • Have a child registered for the Rotary Kids Triathlon

  • Complete the Bike Walk Indian River County Online Bike Safety Course with both the parent/guardian and child

  • At the end of the Online Bike Safety Course, you'll be able to request a loaner bike and sign up for the FREE Hands-On Bike Clinic.

 

Good to Know: Alan's Bicycle Center will inspect all loaner bikes and make any necessary safety and fit adjustments before Race Day.

Bike Request Deadline

October 31, 2026

Bike requests cannot be accepted after this date, and no bikes will be assigned after November 1, 2026.

​

Families will be contacted as soon as possible regarding bike availability. If a bike is unavailable and your child is unable to participate, your registration fee will be refunded.

​

Need a Helmet?

A limited number of helmets are generously provided by the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC).

​

To request a helmet:

  • Indicate during triathlon registration that your child needs a helmet.

  • Borrow one before race day if possible, as supplies are limited.

  • Pick up approved helmets during Friday Bike Check-In and Orientation.
